Jimmie Johnson continued his dominance at Martinsville Speedway by winning Sunday's STP Gas Booster 500. Johnson, the five-time Sprint Cup Series champion, started on the pole and led 346 of 500 laps to win at Martinsville for the eighth time, which is the most among active drivers. Johnson also becomes the first repeat winner in the series this year. He won the February 24th season-opening Daytona 500. Clint Bowyer
finished second yesterday, while Johnson's Hendrick Motorsports teammates, Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne, placed third and fourth, respectively. Kyle Busch, who won the most recent race two weeks ago in Fontana, California, completed the top-five. Danica Patrick finished an impressive 12th in her first start at Martinsville. Next on the schedule is Saturday night’s Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
