BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO) -- A Battle Creek Police officer has turned herself in to face charges.
Officer Jennifer Appl appeared in Calhoun County District court to be arraigned on two misdemeanors, driving drunk and being in possession of a firearm while under the influence. State Police say both charges resulted from her decision to report for duty Saturday night with a blood alcohol count over the legal limit. She was released on her own recognizance.
She is not commenting to the media, and neither is the department, pending the completion of their internal investigation.
