Albion Public Safety officers got a chance to use both their Police and Firefighting skills simultaneously when they were called out to a report of a man holding a woman at gun-point inside a burning home at 311- Burr Oak St. late Saturday night.
Two PSO’s kept their body armor on under their firefighting gear and entered the burning home armed. They didn’t find out until later that the woman had disarmed the suspect and both had fled the burning home.
The search for the suspect triggered a lockdown at nearby Albion College. Calhoun County Deputies got a tip that a suspicious man was hanging out at a CITGO gas station at Michigan and Superior, and it turned out to be their suspect. He was arrested and will be formally charged today.
