KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) Another micro-brewery could soon be opening in Kalamazoo. Kalamazoo City Commissioners will consider a resolution this evening asking the Michigan Liquor Control Commission to grant a license to Mark S. Cataldo to begin brewing beer at a building he owns at 3408 Miller Road.
Cataldo says he plans to invest $7,000 for the brewing equipment, and begin with brewing 500 to 1,000 gallons in the first year, just to see how the business goes. He would have the capacity to brew up to 30-thousand barrels a year. He plans to sell it from the site, from a small tasting room at a business he already operates at the address. It would be his first venture in the beer brewing business.
