GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO) -- A Central Michigan University hockey player has been killed in a fall at the B.O.B. in Grand Rapids.
Friends say they had just left the Griffins game and gone over to the Big Old Building, and were leaving when 21-year-old Zachary Bunting, goofing around, tried to slide down the railing, lost his balance and fell four stories to the floor below.
Alcohol tests are being done on the body of the Political Science major from Grand Ledge.
The management of the facility released a statement saying it was “Truly a tragedy and our thoughts go out to the victim’s family and friends”. It’s the second time a young man has died on those stairs. Tyler Usher of Dorr went over the railing at the 3rd story in August of 2009.
