DETROIT, MI (WKZO) -- The latest study on the effectiveness of the Pure Michigan Campaign shows that it continues to bring in the tourists. The latest data shows that it was even more effective last year than in previous years.
The Study, conducted by Longwood’s International suggests that the ad campaign was exceptionally effective.
George Zimmerman with the Tourism Bureau says it drew 580-thosuand vacationers to Michigan last year. They spent 13.7-million on last year’s campaign and Zimmerman says if you do the math, that’s a handsome return on investment for the state of about $5.76 in taxes returned for every dollar spent on ads.
The results were released at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Detroit. They are spending about 13-million again this year and hope for equally positive results.
