KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) -- The fundraising totals from Monday’s “Runners for Boston” events in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Holland are in and there are some impressive totals for an event that was organized in less than a day.
Gazelle Sports was behind these three events but there were similar ones organized by running stores all over the U.S. both Monday and Tuesday. The Kalamazoo run raised $13,600. The runners in Grand Rapids raised $6,500 and the total in Holland was $4,800.
The money was raised through the sale of special T-shirts and donations, and will go to a non-profit set up by a Boston athletic association to aid victims of the bombing.
