COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - She was born in 1910 in North Dakota and today in Coldwater, Mabel Melvedt is celebrating her 103rd birthday. Mable has been a resident at the Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility for 5 years. She was married to her husband Edward in 1934. He passed away in 1991 at the age of 90. Together they had two daughters Caroline and Janna. Mabel has three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was a teacher and enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, square dancing, and ballroom dancing.
Mable’s secret to longevity? In her words, "I don't smoke and I don't drink. I had a wonderful husband and we loved to dance." Her life lesson? “Life is good to you, if you're good to it."
