Matt Kenseth's win at Kansas last weekend was virtually nullified by NASCAR on Wednesday as the governing body docked the driver 50 points for a rule violation discovered in a post-race inspection on Tuesday.
NASCAR said that one of the connecting rods on the number-20 car did not meet minimum weight. In addition, Kenseth's crew chief, Jason Ratcliff, was suspended for six races and fined $200,000. This weekend, the Sprint Cup series heads to Richmond International Raceway. Live coverage of the Toyota Owners 400 on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 begins at 6:30 Saturday night.
