COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Today is the DEA's National Drug Take Back Day, when people are encouraged to take their old, unused prescription medications to various drop off sites so they can be properly disposed. Doctor Denice Logan, with Blue Cross Blue Shield, says millions of people have old bottles of pills that could be dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands:
Also, she says that medications lose their effectiveness after a certain amount of time. The State Police Post in Coldwater is one of the drop off sites today between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Also keep in mind that the Branch County Sheriff’s Department has a 24-hour drop off box located in their lobby for unused and unwanted medications for destruction.
This box is available to the public free of charge and anonymous with no questions asked. The Sheriff’s Department does not accept liquids
