The Tigers last night finished off their first series sweep of the season with an 8-to-3 victory over the Braves in the rain and fog at Comerica Park. Miguel Cabrera and Austin Jackson each delivered 3 run homers and Omar Infante added a solo homer for Detroit. Doug Fister pitched seven innings of three-run ball with eight strikeouts to move to 4-and-0. After the game, Fister said it was a big shot in the arm for the tigers to win 3 straight from the braves

The Braves arrived in Detroit Friday with the majors best record at 15-and-6 but they were outscored 25-to-7 in the series and also struck out a total of 39 times over the 3 games. The Tigers, now 13-and-10, open a 3-game series tonight at home against the Twins.

The White Sox lost 8-to-3 to Tampa Bay yesterday in Chicago while the Cubs fell 6-to-4 at Miami
