COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - A case of road rage in Coldwater a week ago today involving a weapon has resulted in an Allen woman being charged in connection with the incident. 48-year old Sherry Ann Face was booked at the Branch County jail after turning herself in to authorities on Wednesday. She faces one count of brandishing in public. Coldwater City Police say Face admitted that she showed her handgun to another motorist because his aggressive driving scared her. It happened along U.S. 12 in downtown Coldwater near the Four Corners during the noon hour last Friday. Face complained that the other driver, a 26-year old Coldwater man, had been tailgating her and then screamed something at her as he pulled alongside her car. The man claimed they were both speeding through town and that Face, who was in front of him, slammed on the brakes, forcing him to change lanes.
A news release issued last week by Coldwater Police said Face had been issued a concealed pistol license in February in Hillsdale County. She was released from custody on Wednesday on a personal recognizance bond with a condition that she have no contact with the other driver. She’s scheduled to appear for a hearing in Branch County District Court on August 27th.
