VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) -- You can lie to your boyfriend or lie to your spouse, and maybe even get away with it. Lying to the police could earn a jail sentence.
In this case it could be much more. Van Buren County Deputies responding to a domestic complaint found an agitated and intoxicated 22-year-old Alejandra Aguilar in the 45-thousand block of Paw Paw Road with a cut on her hand and a story about her boyfriend attacking her and trying to stab her with a knife and running off with a .45-caliber handgun.
A K-9 quickly tracked him down, and Deputies immediately noticed that he had been beaten around the face.
He said he fled because she had been pummeling him, and that she cut her hand storming through a door trying to get to him to beat on him some more.
Deputies say Aguilar later admitted his story was the true one and that he didn’t have a knife or a gun.
She was charged with domestic violence and making a false report, and immigration agents want to talk to her when the local courts are finished with prosecution.
