Kalamazoo Township Police got a 9-1-1 call very early Sunday morning that a man who had been shot in the 35-hundred block of Market Street was on his way to Borgess Emergency in a private vehicle.
They drove up in an F-250 Ford Superduty Pick-up with an extended cab. Kalamazoo Township Officers, who were at the hospital on an unrelated matter, were there to greet them. '
The victim, who had been shot in the head, was sitting in the back seat. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
The four others in the truck say the 24-year-old man from South Carolina had been handling the gun when it went off and the bullet struck him in the head. The body has been sent to Sparrow Hospital for an Autopsy.
