EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) - Michigan State is ranked in the top ten for the first time this season in the BCS standings as well as in the latest polls with the 11-and-1 Spartans looking more and more likely to be awarded a BCS at large berth, probably in the Rose Bowl. The final shakeout depends mostly on the outcome of the Big Ten Championship game on Saturday night between MSU and Ohio State, which moved up to number-2 in the BCS standings after the Buckeyes nipped Michigan and previous number one Alabama was upset by Auburn. Florida State is number one this week.
The BCS has Michigan State in tenth place, and it’s the same for the Associated Press Top 25 poll released yesterday and they’re ninth in the Coaches poll. The Spartans finished the regular season unbeaten in the Big Ten with their 14-3 win at Minnesota.
