DURHAM, NC (WTVB) - Michigan missed 17 of its first 21 shots at Duke and the 22nd-ranked Wolverines never fully recovered, losing 79-69 to the tenth ranked Blue Devils last night in a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke improved to 7-and-2 holding Michigan’s leading scorer Nik Stauskus to four points on four free throws with no makes from the field on two shots. Stauskus sat out U-of-M’s previous game with an ankle injury. Caris LeVert equaled a career best with 24 points in the loss while Mitch McGary added 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The Wolverines fall to 5-and-3 with their next game on Saturday at home against Houston Baptist.
The nation’s top-ranked team, the Michigan State Spartans, play their Challenge contest tonight in East Lansing against North Carolina.
