KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Derek Jeter surprised his "leaders" in Kalamazoo last night by showing up for their annual Christmas party, arriving along with Santa.
250 children who are part of the Jeter’s Leaders program funded by the Turn-2-Foundation gathered at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, and were not told that Jeter would be coming.
They each got a backpack filled with Yankee and other items.
Jeter says he alternates between the Parties for the programs in New York and Kalamazoo.
Jeter’s Leaders encourages kids to maintain their grades, exhibit positive behavior and act as leaders at school and in the community.
