LANSING (WKZO) -- The Mega Millions jackpot has grown again as we head toward tonight’s drawing. The jackpot now stands at 586 million, up from 550-million over the weekend and lottery officials say it may go higher before tonight's drawing.
Spokesman Jeff Holyfield says it’s the 2nd biggest in the game’s history. Almost more money than you could spend in a lifetime.
He says if you started spending the jackpot at a rate of $1000 an hour, 24-hours a day, it would take you 67 years to spend it all.
A lump sum pay out would be worth about 316-million before taxes.
He says forget buying a new car, you could afford a whole fleet.
It’s been 25-straight weeks since anyone won the Mega Millions game, which gives you some idea of how stiff the odds are.
