BENTON HARBOR, MI (WKZO) -- Whirlpool Corporation is being recognized for its donation to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

The American Red Cross of West Michigan presented a certificate at the Whirlpool Headquarters in Benton Harbor Thursday to thank the corporation for its donation of $75,000. Whirlpool Corporate V.P. Jeffrey Noel made clear the importance of the Red Cross.

Out of the nearly 17,000 Red Cross trained workers that were deployed out east, 328 of them were from West Michigan.
