DETROIT (WKZO) -- Officials with the Michigan State Police say a trooper who was shot Monday morning in Detroit is expected to recover. The trooper was assisting Detroit Police in their pursuit of armed men who were allegedly impersonating officers and committing armed robberies.
The suspects fled to the 53-hundred block of Townsend and went into an abandoned home. They fired at police, injuring the state trooper and a Detroit police officer who was grazed by a bullet.
Police eventually arrested two men but stayed on the scene for several hours making sure no one else was inside the home.
