COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Motorists in Branch County and across Southwest Michigan are paying all-time record high February gasoline prices but at least some service stations in Coldwater yesterday backed down their prices by a dime or more a gallon after earlier in the day hiking their prices to around $3.90 a gallon.
GasBuddy.com’s senior petroleum analyst, Greg Laskoski is predicting it may peak out this spring at about 4.25 a gallon in April. That may seem high, but it’s just a cent above where it peaked out last year. Driving the higher prices is higher crude oil prices and the refineries are drawing down their winter blends in anticipation of switching over to their summer blends. That combined with an improving global economy and it all means bad news at the pump
