COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - A drunk driving accident late last year in Coldwater Township has brought OUIL causing serious injury charges against a Dexter, Michigan woman. 57-year old PennyRichards was arrested Wednesday and released after posting a $25,000 bond. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department said Richards’ car was westbound on U-S 12 near Fox Road early in the evening of December 29^th when she crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by 17-year old Logan Betts of Quincy.

Deputies said Richards’ was driving too fast for conditions with snow covered and slippery roads at the time of the crash. Authorities said her blood alcohol count was 0.17, over twice the legal limit putting it in the so-called super drunk category. Richards is scheduled to be formally charged in Branch County District Court on February 25^th.
