COOPER TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo Deputies say an alert neighbor who gave them a running play by play of a burglary in progress and the escape, resulted in the capture of the thief. It all began with a call to 9-1-1 just before 2PM Friday.
A resident on Pinto Road in Cooper Township spotted the stranger as the neighbor’s house, apparently toting away property.
The caller stayed on the line and continued to report the burglar’s location until deputies arrived and took him into custody several streets away. A quick check confirmed their was a burglary.
The victim has all their property back and the alert neighbor is getting a big thank you from the Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect, a 22-year-old from Allendale is sitting in the County Jail pending arraignment on home invasion charges.
