FLINT (WKZO) -- The CEO of the Hurley Medical Center in Flint is denying the allegations of a nurse who claims she was not permitted to care for an infant because she was African-American.
Melany Gavulic released a statement saying a father who made the request was told the hospital could not grant his wish. The unnamed father allegedly pulled a nurse supervisor aside last October, requested no black nurses care for the child, and allegedly showed the supervisor a tattoo on his arm of a swastika.
Nurse Tonya Battle filed a lawsuit last month charging discrimination.
