BANGOR TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- A 38 year old Bangor man will face drunken driving charges and a count of driving on an expired license, after they found him staggering along the road, his Jeep Cherokee on its roof and a broken power pole throwing off sparks late Friday afternoon. The arching wires actually destroyed a homeowner's shrubs.
They are withholding his name until he is formally charged. Witnesses say he had been driving erratically before he went off the road, clipped the power pole in the 62-thousand block of M-43 and the jeep rolled over.
He was not hurt. He claimed that a vehicle pulled out in front of him
But witnesses refuted that claim. He will be drying out in the Van Buren County Jail.
