WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO) -- Transportation officials say if the sequester takes place, expect the nation’s air service to gum up...as they will have to cut back on the number of air traffic controllers they have available to handle flights.
Secretary Ray LaHood says they would also have to close a number of airport towers, on the list, WK Kellogg, and airports in Jackson, Ann Arbor and Muskegon.
Officals also fear that many of the employees who work at the Federal Center in Battle Creek and at the Air National Guard base may be forced to take a day each week or each pay period off.
The furloughs would also be triggered by the sequester.
