KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Once again the skating officers of Portage have won the Battle of the Badges at Wings Stadium. The annual charity hockey game between members of the Kalamazoo and Portage Public Safety Departments raises money for the Cuff and Ladder Fund.

It’s used to help the families of firefighters and officers through rough times. Portage won the first year the game was played, and Kalamazoo the second year.

This year Portage skated away with the trophy after winning 5 to 1 Saturday night.

The real winners are the families that are helped by the fund.
