CASS COUNTY, MI (WKZO) -- A Three Rivers woman and her two children are lucky to have escaped a violent collision with their lives. Apparently Ginnie Wallace fell asleep at the wheel and strayed off U.S. 12 near Vera Road, and slammed into a generator and a power pole in Cass County Saturday night just before 8:00.
They all got out with comparatively minor injuries. Authorities say the fact that they all wore seat belts had a lot to do with it. The 40-year old Wallace was taken to Elkhart General with non-life-threatening injuries.
Her 9 and 7-year-old boys were released at the scene to relatives with just a few cuts and bruises.
