ILLINOIS  (WKZO) -- Javonte Higgins has refused to waive extradition in Illinois.  He is the prime suspect in the murders of David and Vivian Bouwman of Kentwood.

He was arrested Friday on the south side Chicago suburb of Blue Island. He is due to be in court today for a hearing on the resisting and obstructing charge he drew when he refused to come along peacefully. 

It could be next month before a full blown extradition hearing can be scheduled, and he can be brought back to Michigan.
