GROSSE POINT PARK (WKZO) -- Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of the death of Jane Bashara of Grosse Pointe Park, and a man who admitted to being hired to kill her will be sentenced next Tuesday.
Joseph Gentz came forward shortly after the woman's body was found on Detroit's east side and told police Robert Bashara hired him to kill his wife. Robert Bashara maintains his innocence in the murder, but admitted to trying to hire a hitman to kill Gentz while he was in the Wayne County Jail in Detroit.
Robert Bashara is currently serving a prison term of up to 20-years in Manistee. The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office will not comment on the case, saying the investigation into Jane Bashara's death is ongoing.
