DECATUR, MI (WKZO) -- A Decatur Police Officer made a life and death decision early yesterday. It’s just a good thing that he wasn’t that good a shot. He responded to a domestic dispute on Bronson St. of a man threatening to kill everyone, and found him walking away down the road.
When the officer confronted him, the man threatened to shoot him and pointed a gun at the officer, who responded as trained and fired at the suspect. He missed. The suspect hit the deck and dropped the pistol which turned out to be a B.B.gun. After a brief scuffle, the 23-year-old was cuffed and taken into custody. No names were released. There will be a routine shooting review, but the suspect is lucky to be alive.
