KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) --   It is one of the single largest expenditures of Tax Money in Kalamazoo County.   The Kalamazoo Teachers Union and the School Board have ratified a new contract that calls for a quarter percent raise in the base salary for the rest of this school year, and a 1 and a quarter percent onetime bonus.

   Compensation levels for the 2^nd and 3^rd year of the contract are yet to be negotiated.     Ratification of the contract before March 28^th, means its grandfathered in and won’t be subject to the States Right to Work law until after it is renegotiated in three years.
