KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) -- It is one of the single largest expenditures of Tax Money in Kalamazoo County. The Kalamazoo Teachers Union and the School Board have ratified a new contract that calls for a quarter percent raise in the base salary for the rest of this school year, and a 1 and a quarter percent onetime bonus.
Compensation levels for the 2nd and 3rd year of the contract are yet to be negotiated. Ratification of the contract before March 28th, means its grandfathered in and won’t be subject to the States Right to Work law until after it is renegotiated in three years.
