Florida Georgia Line 's Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard met as students at Nashville's Belmont University and started writing and touring together before they ever signed a major record deal. The duo actually sold 100,000 copies of their monster hit, "Cruise," before they ever hooked up with their current label, Republic Nashville.
Tyler tells Milwaukee's Journal Sentinel , "When me and B.K. started this thing, we were looking for fans instead of looking for a record deal. It started out organically, and we took a different approach. It got to the point where we couldn't turn record labels down anymore."
Having a big staff behind them has clearly taken Florida Georgia line to the next level. For example, they've now sold an additional 4 million copies of "Cruise."
Says Brian, "We knew that with hard work and a good team around you, a lot can be achieved."
Florida Georgia Line is on the road with Luke Bryan 's Dirt Road Diaries tour all year long.
