LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette issued an alert Tuesday advising consumers of an online ticket scam. Schuette says using credit cards gives online scammers the ability to steal the identity of the consumer, but are however the best way to dispute a fraudulent purchase.
To prevent being scammed, consumers are encouraged to make sure they do the following:
- Purchase from a reputable source
- Use credit card on secure computer
- Inspect fine print
- Contact venue if purchase not received
The warning is being issued by Schuette during the peak of the summer concert season.
