PORTAGE (WKZO) -- To honor the man who helped right the ship in Portage, the Board of Education has removed the word “interim” from Superintendent Rob Olsen’s title, declaring that for the rest of the history of Portage Schools, he will be listed as one of the school district’s leaders.
Last night they paid tribute to Olsen at his last meeting. He came out of retirement to help get the district through a rough patch after they terminated Dr. Ric Perry.
They plan to present him with business cards that call him Superintendent. Olsen is headed back to retirement, as Dr. Mark Beilang has now been selected to be the next Superintendent.
