HARTFORD TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- Authorities say she was the spark that triggered a horrendous accident last February that killed four, and now a Waterviliet woman has been bound over to face trial.
Deputies say 26-year-old Ashley Baker slid on ice thru a stop sign at C.R. 687 and 66th Ave. near Hartford, clipping a Buick Lucerne crossing in front of her.
The impact sent the car spinning across the centerline into a Pick-up truck that sheared off the roof and instantly killed four women who were members of the Keeler General Baptist Church.
Because Baker had trace amounts of marijuana in her blood, she is charged with four counts of driving under the influence causing death, a 15-year-felony.
The defense claims she was not high at the time, and therefore not under the influence. The Judge will let the jury decide.
No trial date has been set.
