DETROIT, MI (WTVB) - The resurgent auto industry is a big reason Michigan’s economy continues on the recovery highway and the car makers want to maintain that momentum. General Motors has started a free maintenance program for anyone who buys a 2014 Chevrolet, Buick, or GMC vehicle. The program will cover regularly scheduled maintenance programs for 24-months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first.
CEO Dan Akerson says the plan will help GM "keep our strong sales momentum going." Cadillac already has a plan in place that covers oil changes, tire rotation, and other services for four-years or 50,000 miles. GM says those customers who already purchased or leased a 2014 vehicle will receive the maintenance program.
