QUINCY, MI (WTVB) - A portion of U.S. 12 in Branch County between Coldwater and Quincy was shut down for over an hour after a car took down a power pole near Ridge Road in Quincy Township around 5:20 this morning. Sheriff’s Deputies say 58-year old Kenneth Hayes of Quincy lost control of his vehicle, which struck a couple of mail boxes before hitting the pole as well as a golf cart that was for sale on the side of the road.

According to deputies, Hayes may have had some type of medical issue that caused the accident, which remains under investigation. He apparently had a head injury and was taken to the Community Health Center of Branch County to be checked out.
