KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo Township Police responded to a report of a 71 year old white male who walked away from his home in the 600 Block of Chicago Avenue Sunday morning.

A Kalamazoo Public Safety K-9 was called to assist Township officers with a search for the subject but they have been unable to locate the subject.

They say 71-year-old Tom William Thomas is depressed and reported to be despondent over a recent decline in his health, and may be suicidal. He is also an insulin dependent diabetic who suffers from the beginning stages of dementia which may cause him to become confused.

Thomas is described as a white male, 71 years old, approximately 5’10” tall, 225 lbs. with medium build.

The subject was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt, blue jeans, glasses, and black shoes. Anyone coming into contact with MR. THOMAS is advised not to approach him and to contact the Township of Kalamazoo Police Department at (269) 343-0568 or their local authorities immediately.
