Martin Truex Jr. found the winner's circle to end a 218-race winless streak on Sunday, taking the checkered flag in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. He led 51 out of the 110 laps on the 2.5-mile, 12 turn road course. Jeff Gordon finished just over eight seconds behind Truex Jr. followed by Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch and Clint Bowyer.
With the top-five finish, Edwards narrowed the points lead of Jimmie Johnson by six points down to 25. Johnson took ninth place yesterday. Coming up this week, the Sprint Cup Series heads to Kentucky Speedway for Saturday night’s Quaker State 400.
