AUDIO: Congressman Walberg blasts President on climate change plan

WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) - 7th District Michigan Congressman Tim Walberg and other opponents of President Obama's climate change plan say it's bad for consumers and the economy. In a speech at Georgetown University Tuesday, the President called for reducing air pollution from power plants, speeding up clean energy development, and cutting energy waste. Climate change skeptics say nothing the President is proposing would have any measurable impact on the earth's climate and maintain the studies simply don't back up his call for reducing carbon emissions.

Walberg charges the President’s plan will end up hurting states like Michigan and districts like his the most. Instead, Walberg says we need to develop safe and reliable energy resources while not hurting industry. He pledges that the U.S. House will continue to fight for expanded American energy, including the Keystone pipeline and the jobs it would create.
