EL PASO, TEXAS (WKZO) -- A felon wanted for mugging an elderly woman in Barry County, among other crimes, has been killed in a shootout with police in the Texas dessert.

Police had been looking for 47 year old Daniel John Myers since the January 29th robbery of a 91 year old woman...but it wasn't until the early morning hours of Friday that he was found -- in Texas, driving a stolen car.

After a vehicle and foot chase through the desert, Myers exchanged gunfire with El Paso Police and a US Border Patrol agent and was killed. No officers were injured in the confrontation.
