COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA (WKZO) --  Jurors are recommending that a man who was already serving 50 years in Michigan for another rape, receive the death sentence for raping and murdering a pregnant woman in her Costa Mesa apartment nearly 25 years ago.  Jason Balcom was recently convicted of stabbing Malinda Gibbons to death in 1988 shortly after the victim and her husband moved to Orange County from Utah.  DNA linked him to the Costa Mesa case.  Balcom is scheduled to be sentenced in a Santa Ana courtroom June 14th.  An Orange County Judge has yet to overturn a jury's death penalty recommendation.
