DOT plans to spend 75 million dollars on maintenance and construction

LANSING, MI (WTVB) -The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced its plans to spend 75.4-million on road maintenance projects this construction season in 9 Southwest Michigan counties. It includes work on 141miles of pavement and 21-bridges.

The largest single project is the $41-million “Constantine bypass” which includes adding 5 new miles of highway to U.S. 131 and a new river bridge in southern St. Joseph County.

The eastbound lanes of  I-94 between Sawyer and Bridgman in Berrien County will be repaved at a cost of $15.5-million. Calhoun County will see resurfacing of I-94 between 6-1/2 Mile and 11 Mile Roads and extensive work on the I-194 business loop. 

In Kalamazoo County, the overpass that carries West Main over U.S. 131 will receive over two million in repairs, and sidewalks.
