BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO) -- It gives new meaning to the phrase “buyers beware”. A 26-year-old Battle Creek man says he accidentally shot himself in the leg when a gun he was thinking of buying from two men discharged when he stuffed it into his waistband. It happened in the 100 block of Riverside Drive at about 2:40 Tuesday morning. He told police the two men fled and took their gun with them. He was taken to Bronson Battle Creek by family. Hospital staff contacted police.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the lakes rose by two inches in February after hitting a record low in January. Forecasters expect the levels to remain below their long-term average over the next six months.
