KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) -- The drunk driver who struck a pedestrian outside Waldo Stadium during the first Bronco home game in September will be let off with probation, even though the pedestrian was critically injured.
The investigators determined that while Joseph Hile may have been intoxicated as he drove his Jeep Cherokee down Stadium that day, the pedestrian, 24-year-old Adam Raut was also drunk and the collision between the two was primarily his fault, because he dashed out into the street without looking.
The 28-year-old Hile has been given a year probation will pay restitution, has been ordered to undergo counseling, attend a Mothers Against Drunk Driving impact panel, and abstain from alcohol and drugs while he is on
probation.
