HOLLAND, MI (WKZO) -- It’s been just over a month since Emilene Van Dyke drove away from her Holland home with her camping equipment in the back of her brand new car, stopped at the bank and took out a significant amount of cash, made a stop at the Gun Lake Casino and disappeared.
Capt. Jack Dykstra says he plans to spend less time on the case now that the car’s license plate has been spotted near Alamagordo New Mexico by an automated camera linked to a national data base.
The photo taken by the device showed a woman matching her description behind the wheel, except with a new hair color.
It’s been a month to the day since lawyer Fred Byrne left Big Rapids to deliver his son to Hope College, and then vanished. His car has since been found in Missouri, but he remains missing.
