DELTON (WKZO) -- Barry County Central Dispatch received an anonymous tip around 2:30 a.m. Friday naming a suspect in a possibly planned school shooting.

The anonymous source said the suspect was high on drugs and was, quote, "going to shoot up an elementary school in Barry County."  Deputies went to the suspects residence and after several hours made contact with the 50-year-old Delton man.

Deputies and the Michigan State Police have the man detained while an investigation is underway.  For the moment, they say they have no reason to believe the man was ever going to carry out the reported act.
