LANSING, MI (WTVB) - In high school sports, the matchups are set for this weekend’s MHSAA boys basketball Final Four following last night’s quarterfinals and the four teams from around the Branch County region that made the Sweet 16 have all been eliminated.
In Class-B, Stevensville-Lakeshore had its undefeated season end with a 56-52 loss to Wyoming Godwin Heights while Jackson Lumen Christi was defeated by Detroit Community 50-47. In Class-C, Schoolcraft, which won the Quincy District, lost to Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central 71-to-62. And in Class-D, Climax Scotts was edged out by Southfield Christian 51-49.
The action now shifts to the Breslin Center with the C-&-D semifinals tomorrow, the A-&-B semis on Friday, and then Saturday, the four championship games, which we’ll carry live here on the radio with our coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 beginning at 10 a.m. with the Class-D title contest.
In post season girls basketball honors, congratulations to Union City senior Brooke Johnson, who was named to the Big Eight All Conference Team, while selected honorable mention were Quincy seniors Katie Santi and Sarah Ward.
