DETROIT (WKZO) -- A small group of protesters gathered outside the Spirit of Detroit statue today in protest of Emergency Financial Manager Kevyn Orr.
The group was organized by local church leaders in association with the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. They repeated their claims that the voting rights of citizens in Detroit have been taken away by the Emergency Manager Law.
Reverend Jesse Jackson was in Detroit last Friday calling for "mass civil disobedience." In a separate demonstration, protesters got on buses and traveled to Cleveland to demonstrate outside of the law offices of Orr's previous employer Jones Day.
